I am an assistant professor at the Institute of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. I hold a PhD and MA in ethnology from the Jagiellonian University. My main research interests are the anthropology of sound, critical heritage studies, and the anthropology of religion. My primary sites of ethnographic field research are the Beskids highland regions of Poland, and the urban spaces of Kraków and Sicily, Italy. My book, Boska cząstka i inne mirakula [The God Particle and Other Miracles] was published by Pasaze, Kraków, in 2022. In the book I show how major concepts prevalent today in popular science (such as the Big Band Theory, the Higgs boson or “God Particle,” global climate change, and so forth) can be understood as contemporary mythology.
I am also the originator and coordinator of the Ethnographic Sound Laboratory at the Jagiellonian University, which is a research network conducting projects and organizing seminars on sound studies.

Fields of interest:

  • ethnographic methodes
  • theory of interpretation,
  • anthropology of listening,
  • critical heritage studies.

I am conducting ethnographic field researches:

  • in Cracow,
  • on Sicily and in Southern Italy,
  • in Lesser Poland (or in polish "Małopolska", especially in the Beskids highland regions).
